Social judgment theory (SJT)

Social judgment theory (SJT) is a persuasion theory where the perception and evaluation of an idea by comparing it with current attitudes. According to this theory, an individual weighs every new idea, comparing it with the individual's present point of view to determine where it should be placed on the attitude scale in an individual's mind. SJT is the subconscious sorting out of ideas that occurs at the instant of perception.

1. When train was introduced for the first time in Britain there were lots of opposition from the people, they even gone to the extreme that the hen wont lay eggs, cows milk output will be reduced.. What is the take for this today?. We have a bullet train...

2. When Alexander Graham bell showed his invention Telephone, the queen gave a nice comment, its a good invention but who is going to use it?.. can we live without a mobile phone today?

3. When Wright brothers attempted to fly and show the world there is a modern transportataion ahead no one believed them...what is the fastest mode of public transportation today?.. Think

4. When Galileo Galilei told the world that earth revoles around the Sun, people mocked at him and even casted him as a man with psychological problem..what is the truth today?

5. When Eiffel wanted to show the world that bridge can be built with concetp of cantilever, he was mocked at...but what is the fact today in the structural engineering world?

6. When Bill Gates unwind the microcomputers, mainframe mammoths ridiculed him...his vision was that every household will have a PC and his OS will be running in that PC...its almost true..

7. Steve Jobs inventions and innovations were ridiculed by Bill Gates few times....

8. I dont know ...there may be some investors who might have turned down Facebook and Google.....but what is the fact today about FB and GOGL?

Well, good things were always discounted by on some basis of the people's limited knowledge, exposure and inability to see what the achievers conceived as mentioned in the SJT.. so innovators if you believe your ideas will succeed never give up...believe in you if you are sure..it will happen in your lifetime if not your ideas will be used by billions after you..no matter how much resistance you get from friends, families and public.
